DOROTHY T. ROBERTS

Dorothy Turner Roberts, 81, lifelong resident of Rones Chapel community near Mount Olive, passed away Monday morning, Sept. 29, at her residence.
Her life will be remembered in a service to be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Wanda Simmons, and followed by visitation. Burial will be Thursday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with Dr. Dennis Draper officiating.
To honor her life, memorials to Roberts/Swinson Endowment, University of Mount Olive, 634 Henderson St., Mount Olive, N.C., 28365, are requested.
Known locally as "Tom," she was the daughter of the late John Ivey and Nettie Mae Sullivan Turner.
A member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, she was a lifelong homemaker, and had assisted her husband in the establishment of Roberts Machine Shop.
She is survived by her husband, Wyatt E. Roberts of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, W. Kevin and Kathy S. Roberts of Dudley; two grandchildren, Ryan K. Roberts of Clayton and Morgan Roberts of Mount Olive; two nieces, Debbie Eden of Wilmington and Wanda Jackson of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Martha R. Smith of Mount Olive; and the nieces and nephews from the Roberts family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Gerlene Turner, and her brother, Wilbert "Wib" Turner.
