LLOYD G. SUTTON

Lloyd Gerald Sutton, 66, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.
Lloyd was born April 16, 1948, in Lenoir County to the late Walter E. Sutton and Christine Ipock Sutton Smith.
Lloyd graduated from North Lenoir High School in 1966.
He served with the United States Air Force with a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Lloyd graduated from Moses Cone School of Radiology in 1974. While attending Moses Cone, he earned a bachelor's degree from Guilford College.
Lloyd worked as chief x-ray technician at Wayne Memorial Hospital, and then served as an instructor for Lenoir Memorial Hospital School of Radiology.
Lloyd last worked with Cherry Hospital, retiring in March 2014.
Lloyd was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors, on the water or in the woods. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.
Lloyd enjoyed woodworking, reading, tending to his vegetable garden and time on his John Deere tractor. He cherished time spent with family, especially his grandson, Jeremiah.
A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with pastor Glenn Smith officiating.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gail Turner Sutton; twin children, Jason Sutton of Dallas, Texas, and Julie S. McClain and husband, Scott, of LaGrange; grandson, Jeremiah McClain; and his faithful canine companion, Barney.
The family will receive friends Sunday following the memorial service and at other times will be at the home.
