THOMAS JAMES MOORE

Thomas James Moore, 74, Palm Coast, Fla., died comfortably at home Aug. 25, 2014.
Born July 16, 1940, in Goldsboro, N.C., Tom was the son of the late Carey James Moore and Pattie Uzzell Moore.
Tom graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1958, and served in the Air Force from 1960 to 1964.
In addition to his family and work, his passion was designing, building and flying pattern model airplanes. He was a lifetime member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics and the National Society of Radio Controlled Aerobatics.
Tom was a founder of the Kinston Greenville Aero Modelers, and won multiple North Carolina state championship titles in the sport from the late 1960s through the 1970s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carey James and Pattie Uzzell Moore of Goldsboro, N.C.; his aunts, Addie Smith Wooten and Mildred Moore of Kinston, N.C.; and grandchildren, Zachary Smith and Christopher Smith of Palm Coast, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maria Latimer Moore of Palm Coast, Fla.; children, Wendy Moore Garcia and husband, Eloy Eugene Garcia, of San Antonio, Texas, Christy Moore Bradshaw and husband, Gregory Brendan Bradshaw, of Oakland, Calif., Heidi Boehm Davis and husband, John Davis, of Spotsylvania, Va., and Hans Boehm and wife, Bonnie Boehm, of Palm Coast, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Austin Eloy Garcia, John Thomas Garcia, Mason Grace Bradshaw, Cash Brown Bradshaw, Grant Palmer Davis and Kelsey Grace Davis, Nicholas Smith and Nathan Smith; and cousin, Ann Armbrister of Carrollton, Texas.
Tom was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who lived a happy life. He will be greatly missed.
