Mrs. Linda Carol Bass Hice, 67, Snow Hill, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014.
She was born Nov. 22, 1946, the daughter of Manny and Fannie Lee Lewis Bass.
She was a retired civil service employee having worked with the United States Air Force as a financial analyst.
An avid doll collector, she was a member of the Madame Alexander Association of Doll Collectors, and was also an avid supporter of St. Joseph Indian School.
Surviving are her husband, Lynn Hice; daughter, Lindsay Michelle Hice Sowney of Goldsboro; son, Manny Wade Whitlow of Florida; sister, Judy Faye Hood; brothers, Garland Bass of Virginia and Bobby Bass of Elm City; grandchildren, Lyndon Sowney and Nat-Nat Sowney; six other grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Paula Opper of Conover, Peedie Bumgarner of Hudson and Marsha Winkler of Hudson.
In addition to her parents, a grandchild, Trey Sowney, also preceded her in death.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
