Dean Head, 68, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
Dean was born in Greene County July 30, 1946, to the late Odell and Gatsie Corbett Head.
He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
Dean was a retired truck driver.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wesley Johnson and Pete Williams officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Dean is survived by his wife, Pearl Hill Head; daughters, Angela Letchworth of Goldsboro, Johnnie Faye Letchworth of Chesapeake, Va., Paula Dean Letchworth Cobb and husband, Michael, of Wilson and Pamela Jean Letchworth of Wilson; grandchildren, Staci Olmstead, Andrea Gilbert and Rachel Cobb; three great-grandchildren; special nephew, Gary Sullivan of Goldsboro; brother, Bud Head and wife, Faye, of Goldsboro; and sister, Joan Sullivan and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Head and Ray Head; sister, Grace Head Lancaster; and a special niece, Tammy Sullivan.
The family will receive friends following the service Monday evening at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times, at the home.
