ELIZABETH "LIZ" TRAMMELL
June 1, 1933-July 27, 2014
Elizabeth "Liz" Trammell, S. Best Street, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Liz was born in Johnston County June 1, 1933, to the late John Maynard and Mary Caroline Mitchell Spivey.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and served as manager for Aluminum Can Recycling of Goldsboro.
Liz was a dedicated military wife for more than 20 years, and loved golfing and painting.
She was a devoted, loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her!
She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Trammell; a son, John Lawrence Trammell of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; three daughters, Beverley Noble and husband, Paul, of Frederick, Md., Lisa Jean Dissinger and husband, Ray, of Philadelphia and Donna Elizabeth Phillips and husband, Clyde, of Melbourne, Fla.; two sisters, Maye Spivey Gurley Myers of Goldsboro and Gloria Spivey Cooner and husband, David, of Raeford; a brother-in-law, Bobby Moore of Kenly; four grandchildren, Jarred Gilstrap, Elizabeth Gilstrap, Tyler Dissinger and Evan Dissinger; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita Moore, Lee Brown and husband, Seymour Brown, and Anne Moneyhun and husband, Mike, Moneyhun.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
