LARUE ISENHOUR
June 24, 1933-June 27, 2014
Larue Huffman Isenhour, 81, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Larue was born in Catawba County June 24, 1933, to the late Lee Jesse Huffman and Jesse Propst Huffman.
She was a graduate of Hickory High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
For many years, Larue was a middle school teacher.
We were blessed by the love of a truly honorable and compassionate woman, who touched the lives of many people, including students, teachers and families around the world.
Larue will be remembered by her family as an excellent cook and seamstress. She was a caring, loving parent and grandparent whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.
A service celebrating Larue's life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at St. Francis Episcopal Church. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory.
Larue is survived by her husband, Commander Bill Isenhour; daughters, Dr. Sharon Leigh Isenhour Sarvey and husband, Jeffrey, of Goldsboro and Michelle Isenhour Thompson and husband, Paul, of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Ariel Anderson and husband, John, Lillian Sarvey, Jacob Sarvey and Matthew Thompson; and six great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother, Dolan Huffman and wife, Betty, of Hickory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Flower Guild at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 503 Forest Hill Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
