Sandra Jean Ham, 59, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Sandy was born in Wayne County Jan. 24, 1955, to Jean Hinson Ham and the late Roy Ham.
She had been an employee with Faith Free Will Baptist Church Daycare for 15 years before going to work with Wayne Memorial Hospital. Sandy retired from the hospital after 20 years of service.
She was a faithful member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 14, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, followed by a service celebrating Sandy's life at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Sandy is survived by her mother, Jean Hinson Ham; her niece and nephew, Erin Ham and Michael Damien Ham; a great-nephew, Nicholas Ham; and her special cousin and friend, Carolyn Lawrence.
In addition to her father, Sandy was preceded in death by her brother, David Ham; maternal grandmother, Lillie Hinson; and a special aunt, Evelyn Walters.
