Simon Carter, 73, 509 Hillsboro St., Mount Olive, died Friday in Goldsboro.
He was born Oct. 21, 1940, in Duplin county to Willie and Rosetta James Carter, and is survived by two children.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in James T. Haskins Memorial Chapel of Haskins Funeral Home.
Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will assemble at 105 Marion Drive in preparation for the funeral procession.
The family requests that flowers be limited to green plants.
