HILDA B. SANDERS

Hilda Person Barwick Sanders, 88, High Point, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Hilda was born in Wayne County March 5, 1926, to the late Walter Gray Person and Mary Nancy Green Person. She was married to the late Tommy Gibbons Sanders.
Hilda retired from civil service at Sunny Point, and was a faithful longtime member of Temple Baptist Church in Wilmington, N.C.
Her most significant role in life, and what she did best, was being a loving mother and grandmother.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 28, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro, N.C., followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Hilda is survived by her daughter, Becky Barwick Kornegay of Wilmington; sons, William Ray Barwick Jr. of Wanchese and Donald Craig Barwick and wife, Debbie, of High Point; sisters, Filie Nordon of Portsmouth, Va., and Juanita Aiello of Wilmington; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Crumpler.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Hospice Home at High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C., 27262.
