Karen Elizabeth Engh Malcolm, 60, Faison, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday evening surrounded by her family.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday, May 30, 2014, at 6 p.m., at Tyndall Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Jabe Largen will officiate the service, with the family receiving friends immediately following. The family also invites friends to call at the home in Faison.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Malcolm of the home; her two sons, James C. Malcolm and wife, Katie, of Wayne, Pa., and Philip S. Malcolm of Fort Mill, S.C.; a daughter, Melanie Malcolm Powell of Faison; two brothers, David Engh and his wife, Dawn, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Barry Engh of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Becky Hendry and Jan Thrower both of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and her grandchildren, Carly Powell, Christian Powell, Cameron Malcolm and Elizabeth Malcolm.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Chester William and Georgia Rich Higgenbothem Engh, and her mother and father in-law, James L. and Irma Malcolm, whom she loved and cared for as her own parents.
