Brother John Wilbur Everette Sr., 83, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his home.
Born in Johnston County, he was the son of Jasper and Effie Bennett.
A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at St. James AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Dwight Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Everette Memorial Cemetery, Old Smithfield Road.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; four children; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; foster brother, Carlton D. Atkinson; brother-in-law, Jack (Pearl) Eatmon; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
Viewing will be held Monday, April 21, 2014, from 1 to 7 p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
