PRINCETON -- Daniel Franklin "Frank" Kornegay Sr. 90, 574 Worley Road, Princeton, died Saturday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Johnston County July 12, 1923, and was the son of the late Daniel Owen Kornegay and Louie Capps Kornegay.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 50 years, Helen Lancaster Kornegay.
Mr. Kornegay was the youngest of five children.
He was retired from Universal Leaf Tobacco Co., and was a lifetime farmer.
He was a member of Progressive Presbyterian Church, and was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the chapel of Casey Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will follow in Progressive Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Danny Kornegay and wife, Susie; a grandson, Dan Kornegay and wife, Tina; granddaughter, Kim K. LeQuire and husband, Mitch; five great-grandchildren, Daniel and Landry Kornegay and Noah, Sam and Thomas LeQuire, all of Princeton; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Casey Funeral Home.
