MYARL RAY ROSE

MOUNT OLIVE -- Myarl Ray Rose, 92, went to be with his Lord early Sunday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Myarl was born in Wayne County to the late Chester Garfield Rose and Effie Abigail Britt Rose.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
Myarl was a farmer in the Grantham community, and for those who labor in the earth, are considered the chosen people of God.
He was a member of Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, and a charter member of Smith Chapel Volunteer Fire Department.
A service celebrating Myarl's life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Vance Harrell and the Rev. Frederick Dixon officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Rose Family Cemetery near the family home with military honors.
Myarl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sallie Williams Rose; daughters, Annette Woods and husband, Robert, of Mount Olive and Cathy Raynor and husband, Tony, of Mount Olive; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Rose, and sisters, Ester Mae Grantham, Estelle Sloan and Nell Teachey.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, 463-A Harrells Hill Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
The family will receive friends Monday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times, at the home of Annette and Robert Woods, 676 Crows Foot Road, Mount Olive.
