STUART, Va. -- Doris Strickland Flowers, Stuart, Va., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013.
She was born in Wayne County, N.C., July 22, 1928, to the late Louis L. Strickland Sr. and Maggie Parham Strickland.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Flowers; a daughter, Patricia F. Kice; and six siblings.
Doris is survived by a son, Stan Flowers of Stuart, Va.; four grandchildren, Stacy F. Martin of Stuart, Va., D. Scott Flowers of Raleigh, N.C., Peter J. Kice of Danville, and James W. Kice of Vancouver, Wash.; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Sheridan Forest Worship Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
