LINDA SUSAN "DOBE" CUSHING

WILMINGTON -- Linda Susan "Dobe" Cushing, 56, Wilmington passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.
She was born in Japan May 27, 1957, daughter of Dorothy Vivian Graham Cushing of Wilmington and the late Thomas Vincent Cushing.
Up until the time of her passing, "Dobe" had been employed with Sturdy Corp. in Wilmington for the past 20 years.
In her free time, she and Jack enjoyed camping and fishing at Masonboro Island and walking her dog, Savannah.
Surviving are her loving companion of more than 40 years, Jack Alton Smith; a brother, Thomas M. Cushing and wife, Brenda Sue, of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister, Patricia Ann Howard and husband, Steven, of Dennison, Ill.; aunt, Claire Kirby and her children; aunt, Dolly Alexander and her daughter, Lisa Alexander; uncle, William Graham; and on Jack's side of the family his mother, Minnie L. Smith, his brother, Floyd Smith, and his uncle, Richard Hinson, all of Kure Beach.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, N.C.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, also at the Valley Chapel with interment to follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, N.C.
