ALBERT DEKALB PARROTT
Albert DeKalb Parrott, 92, passed away Tuesday at his home surrounded by his family. A native of Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Robert David and Blanche Reid King Parrott.
Mr. Parrott was married to the late Frances Knott Parrott. He owned and operated Parrott's Shoe Store for over 40 years in downtown Goldsboro. Mr. Parrott was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, the Golden K Kiwanis Club, and was past exalted ruler of the Goldsboro Elks Lodge No. 139 B.P. O.E. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a captain with the Infantry during World War II.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Willow Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Eugene Carpenter officiating.
Surviving are his daughters, Patricia Parrott Moehle and husband, Walter of Greeneville, Tenn., and Reid Parrott Lancaster and husband, David of Tega Cay, S.C.; his son, Albert D. Parrott III of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Harrison, Graham and Caroline Lancaster; and a nephew and several nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 984, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534 or the charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends at his home.
