MILTON JR. "PETE" GOFF

PIKEVILLE -- Milton "Pete" Jr. Goff, 77, passed away early Tuesday morning, Aug. 27, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Pete was a retired, well-known and respected brick mason/contractor in Goldsboro and surrounding areas for more than 50 years.
He attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro, and was known and loved by many members of Pinkney Baptist Church.
The great joys of his life were his family and friends, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
His hobbies included Tar Heel basketball, NASCAR racing, boxing, country music and old Western movies.
Pete is survived by a daughter, Teresa Goff of the home; a son, Audie Goff of the home; a granddaughter, Tabatha Capps of Durham; and two great-granddaughters, Kayla Hyde and Victoria Dicka.
He is also survived by three sisters, Jean Williams of Hubert, N.C., Linda Jernigan of Goldsboro and Diana Edwards of Pikeville; a brother, Alton Goff of Longview, Texas; and many, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Goff; his parents, Milton and Vioda Bass Goff; and two brothers, Wayne M. Goff and Arthur O. Goff.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont and other times at the residence.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
The family is being served by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
