Jasper Earl "Buddy" Newman, 65, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday evening surrounded by his family.
He was the son of the late James Earl and Nettie Byrd Newman, and the husband of Dianne Kornegay Newman.
He was a United States Army veteran, and was a self-employed business owner.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Harvest Fellowship Church, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., with pastor Pete Norris officiating. Committal will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to his wife, Buddy is survived by a daughter, Natalie Newman Garris, and her husband, Joel, of LaGrange; a son James Michael Newman and his wife, Mary, of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Noel and Joah Garris of LaGrange; a sister, Patricia Newman Wilson and her husband, Dennis, of Goldsboro; a niece, Angie Gurley of Goldsboro; a great-nephew, Colby Hooks of Goldsboro; a mother-in-law, Jane Kornegay of Goldsboro; two sisters-in-law, Gail Herring and her husband, Randal, of LaGrange, and Sandra Outlaw of Goldsboro; and a family friend, Amiee Clark of Goldsboro.
