MICRO -- Doug Lane, 63, Micro, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at his home.
He was surrounded by his family as he passed from this earthly world to his heavenly home.
Born Sept. 8, 1949, to the late Joe and Beulah Mae Lane, Doug was the owner of D.W. Lane Electrical Contractor until he retired.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with elder Harold Pittman and the Rev. Laura Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Micro Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Doug is survived by his wife, Janey Lane; son, Hunter Lane of Micro; daughter, Joy Jones and husband, Mike, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Caleb and Makayla Jones; brother, Greg Lane of Micro; and his faithful companion, Keno.
Doug's family sincerely thanks Holly Hans and Jenny Jones of Wake County Hospice for their loving care of Doug and support of his family during his illness.
The family would also like to thank his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, along with special friends, Jim and Nancy Curtis, for the unconditional love and support they have given him over the past months.
