JAMIE MAE HENDERSON
Feb. 18, 1953-July 23, 2013
Jamie Mae Henderson, 60, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Jamie was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., on Feb. 18, 1953, to the late James Mouat Henderson and Hulda Eleanor Riley Henderson.
She worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital while attending nursing school, and after graduating, she worked for the hospital as a registered nurse. Jamie later moved to Florida where she worked in the intensive care unit at Florida Hospital. In 2003, she moved back to Goldsboro to enjoy her life with her three Pekingese dogs.
Jamie loved her vegetable garden but was well known for her beautiful flower garden. She always grew special flowers for herself and to share with others. Jamie was loved by all who knew her. God has blessed her with all His love. She will live forever in all our hearts. We will see her one day in Heaven, she is at rest now, in the arms of God.
A service celebrating Jamie's life will be held Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Paula Griffin officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
Jamie is survived by her sister, Janice Dunne; stepmother, Maggie Henderson; stepbrothers, Steve Hammond and Tim Hammond; and nephews, Edward Dunne and wife, Erin, and Sean Dunne and wife, Andrea, all of Florida. She is also survived by some very dear friends, Isis Garriss and family, Bonnie Shadduck and family, Carolyn Wadford and family, and Veronica Gamboa, as well as numerous other friends.
We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Goldsboro Assisted Living and Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the love and care they provided for Jamie during her declining health. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
