MARION R. PIPKIN JR.

Marion Russell Pipkin Jr., 95, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Marion was born in Richmond, Va., on November 5, 1917, to the late Marion Russell Pipkin Sr. and Ruth Chance Pipkin.
He was married to the late Doris Mumford Pipkin.
Marion retired from civil service and served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, and because of his love for trains, he was a member of the Historical Railroad Society. Marion was also a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Park with Judith Hatch officiating.
Marion is survived by his son, Marion Russell Pipkin III.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1608 E. Pine St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Seymour Funeral Home.
