Mr. Frederick Douglas Edwards Sr. died May 13 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, at St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ at 2 p.m., 514 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, N.C., with pastor Anthony Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Edwards Family Cemetery, Lane Road, Stantonsburg, N.C.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Evonne Edwards; five children, Rosa Allen, Frederick Edwards Jr., Tisha Edwards, Scottie Edwards and Jamie Melvin; sisters, Alma Hopkins, Mildred Artis and Verona Chisolm; brother, Scott Edwards Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends and other family members at 927-B Fairview Circle, where it will assemble for the funeral procession.
Hamilton Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
