PIKEVILLE -- Carol Strickland Gardner, 70, died Monday afternoon.
Born June 13, 1942, in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Barden and Estelle Parrish Strickland. Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband, George Jefferson Gardner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Doug Seymour officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, in Pikeville Cemetery.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Lewis and husband, Dennis; adopted son, Chad Pate and wife, Tracey; sisters, Brenda Davis and husband, Bill, all of Pikeville, and Polly McCall and husband, Pete, of Newport; and adopted grandchildren, Adam Pate, Courtney Pate and Bradley Pate.
