MOSLEY C. WATERS

CALYPSO -- Mosley Carr Waters Sr., 89, lifelong resident of Calypso, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, April 8, 2013.
His family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home Wednesday, April 10, beginning at 2 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Calypso Cemetery. Dr. Gregory A. Day will be officiating.
Mr. Waters, the last surviving child born to his late parents, James David and Florence Jackson Waters, was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was the longtime operator of Waters Service Station in Calypso, which evolved into becoming Waters Quick Sak convenient mart.
He was locally known for his woodworking talents, particularly his making wooden swings.
He was a member of Calypso Baptist Church, and was a retired volunteer fireman with Calypso Fire Department.
He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Stoney and Laura Ann Waters of Mount Olive, Jim and Cathy Waters of Fuquay-Varina and Ricky and Terry Waters of Calypso; four grandchildren, Karri Jo Jernigan and husband, Troy, of Calypso, Tiffanie Hawley and husband, Fred, of Wilmington, Derick Waters of Calypso and Christina Waters of Fuquay-Varina; four great-grandchildren, LizieGrace, Troy Edwin and Eli Jernigan and Nathan Hawley; and several nieces and nephews.
