JAMAICA, N.Y. -- Verta Mae Carr Flowers, 83, of Jamaica, N.Y., formerly of Duplin County, died Monday at Margaret Tietz Center, Jamaica, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held from the New Elder's Chapel AME Zion Church on Saturday, March 9, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Janice Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery, Rose Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Willie C. Flowers, Jamaica, N.Y.; and one daughter.
A visitation of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to funeral, at New Elder's Chapel AME Zion Church, Magnolia.
