PIKEVILLE -- J.D. McCall, 964 Vail Road, died Sunday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at United in Christ Church, 1314 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, with the Rev. Ira Williford, the Rev. Larry Massey and the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Committal will follow at Pikeville Cemetery with military honors.
Family and friends are welcome other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randy McCall, 950 Vail Road.
Surviving are his wife Laverne Thomas McCall; sons, Randy McCall (Martie) and Michael David McCall both of Pikeville; grandchildren, Alan McCall (Bridgett), Tyler McCall (fiancée, Brittany Horne) and Leslie Oakes (Jon); great-grandchildren, Chase Parsons, Gracie Parsons, Lane Oakes and Riley Oakes; brother, Jerry Lee McCall (Cathy) of Fairview, N.C.; and sister, Lucille M. Adcock of Spartanburg, S.C.
Mr. McCall was a native of Jackson County, N.C.
His parents, Bertha Long McCall and Justin Lawrence McCall, preceded him in death.
He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army.
Mr. McCall was a member of United in Christ Church.
He retired from Olin Matheson Corp. in Brevard. Memorials can be made to United in Christ Church.
