CATHERINE "KITZI" MOORE

Catherine "Kitzi" Metz Bridgers Moore, 84, of Richmond, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.
A memorial service was Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 12291 River Road, Richmond, VA 23238.
Kitzi was born in Goldsboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy Bridgers; brothers, John Kennedy Bridgers Jr. and Brutus Stallings Bridgers. She is survived by her husband, Dover Gladstone Moore; a son, Frank Christian Moore and his wife, Lisa Palmer Moore, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; a daughter, Catherine Moore Stallings and a grandson, Austin Edwin Stallings, both of Richmond; two sisters, Nancy Bridgers Norwood and husband, Charles Stevens Norwood, of Goldsboro, and Barbara Bridgers Garey and husband, George Frye Garey, of Moorehead City; a brother, Walter Thomas Bridgers and wife, Julie Talton Bridgers, of Goldsboro; sister-in-law, Lillian Overman Bridgers (Brutus Stallings Bridgers), and of course, her beloved nieces and nephews that she cherished with all her heart.
Her family also included hundreds of wonderful friends from all walks of life that were touched by her generosity and graces, and will share fond memories of her for years to come.
Catherine was a graduate of Watts Hospital School of Nursing in Durham, class of 1950. Always active in church and civic affairs in Fredericksburg where she was a member of the Meredian Club and former member of the Fredericksburg Country Club and a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Richmond. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Virginia, serving as a former chairman of the Rappahannock County Committee and a former member of the Wilton House Museum Board.
