Clarence Alferd Owens, 73, of Goldsboro died Monday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Christian Powell officiating. Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
He was the son of the late Clarence J. and Mae Owens, and husband of Joyce Owens. Mr. Owens was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church, and was a retired salesman for American Tobacco Company.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Owens is survived by a son, Steve Owens and wife, Christy, of Goldsboro; a daughter, Sherry Truesdale of Clover, S.C.; two brothers, Bobby Owens and wife, Patricia, of Atlanta, Ga. and Kenneth Owens and wife, Brenda, of Monroe, Ga.; two sisters, Ellen Owens of Bumpass, Va. and Judy Gurley and husband, Shade, of Charles City, Va.; three grandchildren, Allison Hernandez and husband, Afner, of Clover, S.C., Alex Pilgrim and wife, Michelle, of Clover, S.C., and Jacob Owens of Goldsboro; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Pilgrim, of Clover, S.C.
A sister, Ann Watson preceded Mr. Owens in death.
