EMMETT CAMPBELL WADFORD

Emmett lost his battle of life after many years of declining health from pulmonary disease.

He was born Aug. 12, 1937, beloved son of Hines Olen Campbell Wadford and L. Henrietta Wadford.

Emmett was a graduate of Cary High School, and served in the Army National Guard in Morrisville.

Emmett worked at Monsanto as a maintenance tech, and later retired from Glaxo. He was also owner of Wadford Welding.

Emmett enjoyed his times outside doing the things he loved -- hunting, fishing, searching for arrowheads and being with his many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, H.O. Wadford Jr.; sister, Nettie DeMain; and his first wife, Louise Branton Wadford.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn D. Wadford; daughter, Janet Wadford Masouras; son, Greg Campbell Wadford; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Wadford, and her mother, Teresa Wadford; and grandson, George Olin Masouras.

He will also be missed by his sister, Marguerite Pierce of Raleigh; brother, Dwight Wadford of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Robert DeMain of Raleigh; many nieces and nephews; his faithful companion, Ginger; as well as many hunting, fishing, school and church friends.

The family will receive friends and family Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary.

The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors.
