SUSIE MAE FINNEY NARRON

MIDDLESEX -- Susie Mae Finney Narron, 96, died Saturday night at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. today at Parrish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born July 6, 1916, in Franklin County, Va. she was a daughter of the late Thomas Napier and Harriet Alice Jamison Finney. Mrs. Narron was a loyal and loving church member, wife, mother, and grandmother that was very active in her church, community, girl scouts, 4-H, and many other civic organizations. She helped start the WMU in her church, Antioch Baptist Church, and helped start the PTA in Corinth Holder School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam W. Narron who died Dec. 31, 1996; brothers, Garnett Finney, James Finney, Lewis Finney, and Charlie Finney; and sisters, Byrd Napier, and Mildred Martin.
Surviving are her son, Richard "Rooster" Narron and wife, Robin, of Goldsboro; daughter, Rebecca "Becky" N. Murphy of Middlesex; sisters, Delma F. Richardson of Martinsville, Va., and Helen McKinley of Taylorsville, Ky.; sisters-in-law, Eunice Finney of Rocky Mount, Va., and Zelma Finney of Ridegeway, Va.; grandchildren, John L. Murphy, Susan M. Lewis and husband, Eddie, Sam F. Narron and wife, Aaron, and Virginia N. Wilkins and husband, Riley; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Lewis and Lillie Scott Narron.
