KINSTON -- Sadie Ruth Ward Alphin, 88, died Thursday.
A service of remembrance will be held today at 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Ezzell officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive.
Ruth was born in Wayne County to the late Richard and Maggie Lewis Ward.
Mrs. Alphin is survived by a daughter.
The family will receive friends today from 1 until 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
