CARL H. WADSWORTH

Carl Henderson Wadsworth, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at The Pines of Goldsboro.
Carl was born in Duplin County Jan. 14, 1918, to the late Daniel Henry Wadsworth and Callie Heath Wadsworth McClenny. He was married for 54 years to Nina Wadsworth, who preceded him in death Dec. 16, 2011.
Carl was a member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a founding member of Airboro Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He retired from Franklin Baking Co. after 43 years of service.
Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
A service to celebrate Carl's life will be Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Rose and the Rev. David Hildebrand officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.
Carl is survived by his son, Kenneth Wadsworth and wife, Jean, of Goldsboro; his daughter, Rebecca Kirchstein and husband, Eric, of Raleigh; and his grandchildren, Brian, Melissa, Julie, Jennifer, Stephanie, Callie, Bobby, JoAnn, Michael, Debbie and Sandy.
He is also survived by many other family members who were dear to him and his wife, especially their many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his sons, Deems Ray Wadsworth and Carl Warren Wadsworth; his daughter, Mildred Ann Boyd; his brothers, Eugene Wadsworth and Alton Wadsworth; as well as several other half-brothers and sisters.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
