ASHLEY MULL SAMPIER

Nov. 14, 1968-June 29, 2012

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Ashley Mull Sampier, 43, died June 29 at her home in San Diego, Calif., after an inspirational five-year battle against breast cancer.

A Goldsboro native, she is survived by her husband, Jack Sampier; three daughters, Hannah, 15, Mackenzie, 12, and Zoe, 7; her mother, Jane Brown Mull, of Goldsboro; her father, Gary Ray Mull, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Kelly Mull of Wilmington, and a niece, Kate Mull.

Ashley was born Nov. 14, 1968, in Greenville.

She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1987, and earned a degree in fashion merchandising from East Carolina University.

She worked several years in retail management before setting aside her professional career to raise her family, at which she excelled.

Ashley had a strong Christian faith. A terrific singer, she was a praise and worship leader, most recently at Hope Church in San Diego.

She also enjoyed her daughters' various athletic and drama events; family trips to Disneyland, the beach or the mountains; camping; and watching the Duke Blue Devils play basketball.

A memorial service to celebrate her life was held July 2 at Newbreak Church in San Diego.
