CONSTANCE MCINTYRE HAND

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Constance McIntyre Hand, daughter of Matilda Black McIntyre and Lawrence Fuller McIntyre, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 22, 2012.

Connie was born and raised in Goldsboro, where she attended Goldsboro High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salem College in Winston-Salem, and obtained her master's degree in education from Georgia State University in 1975.

Connie taught language arts at Lindley Middle School in Cobb County for 21 years.

Upon retirement, she moved to Blue Ridge, Ga., and designed and built her home on Lake Blue Ridge.

Connie was active in retirement. She served on the auxiliary board at Fannin Regional Hospital, and was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women at First Methodist Church of Blue Ridge and a member (and president) of the Fannin Retired Teacher's Association.

Connie is survived by her brothers, James B. McIntyre and Lawrence F. McIntyre Jr., and her children, Julia H. Johnson and William L. Hand Jr.

Connie was a beautiful, active, caring person, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of H.M. Patterson and Son Canton Hill.
