FREMONT -- Sarah Hooks Ballance, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Wilson Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont, with visitation afterward.
Sarah was born in Wayne County March 10, 1925, to the late Harry Bryant Sr. and Carrie Yelverton Bryant.
She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers all of Fremont.
She is survived by a sister, Carolyn Duke of Goldsboro, along with other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fremont Missionary Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
