ELIZABETH GRAHAM PARKER

Died March 16, 2012

RALEIGH -- Elizabeth Graham (Betty Anne) Parker passed away peacefully after an extended illness.

Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Monday, March 19, 2012, at 2 p.m. Visitation will follow in the church parish hall.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Fred P. Parker III; her daughter, Mary Kent Hill and husband, Karl N. Hill III, and their two children, Karl N. Hill IV and Borden Parker Hill, who live in Carrboro; her son, Fred P. Parker IV and wife, Nicole B. Parker, and their two children, Wiley Becton Parker and Chase Hallett Parker, who live in Charlotte; two brothers, Edwin N. Graham and his wife, Brenda, of Fairview and F. Kent Graham and wife, Lynn, of Clemmons and their children and grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, E.B. Borden Parker of Goldsboro, and Susan Green Parker and her husband, Robert, of Raleigh.

Betty Anne was born in Washington, D.C. the daughter of Edwin M. Graham of Washington, D.C. and Ruth Davenport Kent of Asheville. She grew up in Miami Shores, Fla., attended high school and junior college at Peace College in Raleigh where she was chosen May Queen her last year. She received her AB degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has resided in Raleigh since 1964.

Being very active in the community, she has chaired Wake Relief at Christ Episcopal Church, was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the Junior League of Raleigh and the Capitol City Garden Club. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed their regular visits along with visits of her many friends. She enjoyed playing bridge and played regularly in her home several times a week as long as she was able.

Instead of flowers a donation should be made to either Wake Relief, Hospice of Wake County or the charity of your choice . The family would like to express their thanks to Katy Tomlinson, Cathy Gaithings, Ellen Gordon and Hospice Nurse Susan Kempinski who assisted her and made her life more comfortable.
