Flonnie Woodard George peacefully slipped away on Feb. 23, 2011, at 3:30 a.m. at Kitty Askins Hospice.
A visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, from 4 until 7 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, 401 N. William St. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy's Road. Following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. George's delicate temple, along with her adored family will be escorted to Old Mill Cemetery for interment rites.
She was born on Aug. 21, 1947, to the late Mary Lee Best Woodard and Allen J. Woodard.
Flonnie has left a legacy of loved ones to cherish precious memories of her love: sons, Kelvin Sr. (Clarine) Woodard of Raleigh and Allen E. Coley of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Cordialla Tonyelle George of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Kiara, LaKhia, Kelvin Jr., Dyamond, and Nakeda; one great-granddaughter, London; one sister, Dorothy W. Hardy; and brother, William E. (Ola) Woodard, both of Goldsboro; four nieces, Starshell, Michelle (Derrick), Priscilla of New York and Pamela of Georgia.; three nephews, Larry A. (Sharon) of Dudley, William (Durene) of New York and Keita of Goldsboro; several great-nieces and nephews; two aunts, Canarie B. Spruill of Goldsboro and Edna W. Smith of Bridgeport, Conn.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ms. George's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the George and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
