DUDLEY -- Elizabeth Coates Burroughs, 85, Dudley, passed away Monday at her residence.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Blaney and Roxie Faircloth Coates, and the wife of the late D.T. Burroughs.
A service to celebrate the life of "Lib" will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Pete Radford officiating.
Family members will remain to greet friends immediately following the service.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by a son, Dero Burroughs of Mount Olive; a daughter, Alice Faye Wise of Dudley; a brother, Blaney Coates Jr. of Mount Olive; three sisters, Edna Williams and Joyce Hardy both of Goldsboro and Joan Worley of Princeton; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
