NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- C.M. Warrick, 68, went to be with his Lord and savior Jan. 21, 2012.
He was born in Fremont, and grew up in Goldsboro.
He moved to the Peninsula in March 1962, where he graduated from the Apprentice School, and began a career with the Newport News Shipyard that lasted 46 years.
C.M. was preceded in death by his father, Claudie C. Warrick; mother, Rachel Holland Warrick of Goldsboro; and his parents-in-law, Joseph and Beulah Bosta of Newport News, Va.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Carolyn Bosta Warrick; his son, Harry Lee Warrick of Smithfield, Va.; daughter, Channing Warrick Guvernator and husband, G. Christian Guvernator IV of Norfolk, Va.; grandchildren, Luba Guvernator, Quint Guvernator, Lana Guvernator and Priya Guvernator Norfolk, Va.; sister, Carol Warrick Williams and husband, Marvin Williams of Portsmouth, Va.; nephew, Jeffrey Williams of Portsmouth, Va.; sister-in-law, Shirley Bosta Wendell and husband, Edward Wendell, of Orange, Va.; brother-in-law, William Bosta and wife, Gail G. Bosta, of Richmond, Va.; nephew, Bryan G. Bosta of Alexandria, Va.; and niece, Blair Bosta Setnor and husband, Shane Setnor, of Atlanta, Ga.
There will be a celebration of his life at Peninsula Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at 2 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Katherine T. Gray, the Rev. Win Lewis and the Rev. Blair Setnor. A private family graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Mesothelioma Research Department, 1275 York Ave., New York, N.Y., 10065.
