LAGRANGE -- Carolyn Mae Wilson Hill, 88, LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, in Gastonia.
Carolyn was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Lenoir County to the late Joseph Walter Wilson Sr. and Lavina Jolly Wilson. She was wife of the late Lantice Hill Jr.
Carolyn was a longtime member of LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church, where she played the piano and organ.
Carolyn retired from Cherry Hospital, where she worked as a bookkeeper.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. at LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronnie V. Hobgood officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her son, Donald Howe, M.D., and wife, Frances, of Gastonia; brother, J.L. Wilson of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Lisa Combs and husband, James Combs, of Davidson, David Howe, M.D., and wife, Cristi Howe, M.D, of Winston-Salem and Christopher Howe and wife, Melissa Howe, of Greensboro; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church.
