Jacob Rhett Riley, 93, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He retired from the United States federal government as a tax investigator.
Jacob was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth P. Riley.
The Riley family will greet friends Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with Dr. Bob Fulkerson officiating.
Jacob is survived by his granddaughter, Deborah Carmelo of Rose Hill; a great-grandson, Nicholas Carmelo; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. He is also survived by his beloved pet, CoCo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 300 S. Madison Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
