Joan Sue Davis, 65 of Goldsboro, died Sept. 29, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A memorial service will be held at the Wayne County Wild Life Club on Wayne Memorial Drive North on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at 6 p.m.
She was born Jan. 13, 1946, in Wabash, Ind., to Forrest Kemker and Anna Louise Simpson Kemker.
Mrs. Davis was retired from Cherry Hospital in 2008. She enjoyed retirement by working in the yard and the ditch with her flowers, drinking her homemade hot chocolate every night at 8:30 p.m. Mrs. Davis loved her little dog, Lady, who passed away a year ago. She also enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Fred; two daughters, Patricia Pope (Lonnie) of LaGrange and Tammy Weimer (Steve Carr) of Goldsboro; one son, Philip Weimer of Florida; five grandchildren; two sisters; Sally Simpson of Kentucky and Dixie Matarazzo (Peter) of Florida.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela.
