Dolly Peacock Hester, 80, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by family and friends.
Dolly was born in Johnston County Jan. 30, 1931, to the late Forrest Peacock and Lillian Cobb Peacock.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Pate and the Rev. Rose Hicks officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service, and other times at the home of Rudy and Sherry Holloman at 237 Capps Bridge Road.
Interment will be Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Dolly is survived by her sons, James Hester and wife, Joan, of Goldsboro and David Hester and wife, Tammy, of Fremont; her daughters, Suzette Williamson and husband, Larry of Dudley, Sherry Holloman and husband, Rudy, of Princeton and Denise Cross of Grantham; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Matthews of Smithfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Lee Hester; her daughter, Eva H. Myers; and her brother, Paul Peacock.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Ebenezer Methodist Church at 3859 W. U.S. 70, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family would like to express its appreciation to Wayne Memorial Hospital staff on the 7th floor and to the staff at Kitty Askins.
