Richard Earl Hinson, 71, of Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at UNC Hospitals surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was born Sept. 29, 1939, in Wayne County to the late Arnold Ernest Hinson and Emma Ruth Matthews Hinson. He was a retired truck driver and a resident of Kirkwood Retirement Community.
A service of remembrance will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cobb Cemetery.
Richard is survived by three children, Richard Hinson Jr. and wife, Patricia, Bobby Hinson and Vicky Stamatis, all of Goldsboro; sister, Ernestine Daves of Cartersville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Scott, Brittany, Tonya, Sandy, Erica and Jessica; nine great-grandchildren; and two special family friends, Peggy Simmons and Roxie Hinson.
