Lillie Mae Best Reddick, 83, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Ma Mae" of 508 E. Walnut Street, Apartment 106B, Goldsboro, graciously departed her life on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Lillie Mae was born in Wayne County on Sept. 3, 1927, to the late Lillie Bell Williams Best and James Best Sr.
Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the New Stoney Hill United Holy Church, 1003 Poplar Street, Goldsboro, Dr. Howard E. McNair officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery, 2925 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
A public viewing will be held on Friday at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2-6 p.m.
Mother Reddick leaves precious memories with a daughter, Lucy R. Headen; a brother, James Best and wife, Retha of Albany, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Robert, Samuel and Calvin; five great-grandchildren, three great-greatgrandchildren; three special friends, Elder Adeen George, Essie Lamb and Nellie Rhodes Jones; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at 307 Mercer St., Goldsboro, where family and friends will also assemble one hour prior to the funeral, in preparation for the funeral procession.
