DONALD RAY PARNELL

Donald Ray Parnell, 79, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born in Johnston County June 6, 1932, to the late Paul Parnell and Didy Carraway Parnell.
He established Parnells' Auto Clinic in 1976.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Lewis Forsythe and Ray Boyette officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred Ferrell Parnell; his daughter, Donna Parnell Grantham and husband, Michael, of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Heather Pendergraph and husband, Matthew, of Pikeville and Traci Lynne Lane and husband, Joshua, of Princeton; his great-granddaughter, Michaela Grace Pendergraph; and his brother, Edward Parnell of Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lynne Parnell, and his sister, Ruth Parnell.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
