Carolyn Alford Woodard, 75, died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Wayne County to the late James Charles and Mary Magdalene Martin Alford.
Carolyn was a member of Tee's Chapel Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service, and at other times at her home, 2259 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
A burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Tee's Chapel Church Cemetery.
Surviving are her daughter, Glenda Woodard Walters and husband, Andy, of Goldsboro; sister-in-law, Janice Kellum and husband, Ward, of Pikeville; nephews, Charles Ashley Alford and wife, Pat, of Fremont and James Wheeler and wife, Donna, of Garner; nieces, Regina Alford Howell of Pikeville and Mary Lou Wheeler Todd and husband, Rex, of Garner; seven great-nieces and nephews; five great-great-nieces and nephews; and her special companion, "Petey."
