Mavis Mattie Johnson Ferrill, 79, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Raleigh National Cemetery, with Robert Goff officiating.
She was born in Lawrence County, Ala., to the late William A. and Mattie S. Johnson, and was married to the late Jerry L. Ferrill.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro is serving the family.
