MOUNT OLIVE -- The Rev. Charles Nelson Faulk, 71, 315 Maysville School Road, died Tuesday, May 31, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lamar Jackson officiating, after which the family will receive friends. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, at Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nellie Lou Thigpen Faulk; his five children, Sherri F. Martin and husband, John, of Newport, Kenny Faulk and wife, Linda, of Mount Olive, Ernest Faulk of Mount Olive, David Faulk and wife, Shelia, of Goldsboro and Tony Faulk of Mount Olive; 12 grandchildren, Kasey, Nikki, Michael, Christopher, Joshua, Dale, Jeffery, Zachary, Kayla, Charlie, Hanna and Harleigh Faulk; four great-grandchildren, Austin Chandler, Hayden, Laken and Shyanne Faulk; three sisters, Peggy F. Sartin and husband, Jeff, of Mount Olive, Sandra F. Oliver and husband, Al, of Michigan and Kay F. Strandell of Mount Olive; two brothers, Jimmy Faulk and wife, Cindy, of Mount Olive, and Michael Faulk and wife, Leida, of Florida; his late brother, Larry Faulk's widow, Lougene Faulk of Washington; his late sister, Jo Anne F. Davis' husband, Tony Davis of Mount Olive; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with Larry and Jo Anne, Charles was also preceded in death by another brother, Jerry Faulk, and parents, Walter W. "Tupp" and Audrey Holland Faulk.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He had been a self-employed electrical contractor before beginning a career with Mt. Olive Pickle Co. as a shipping supervisor.

In recent years, he had become a licensed minister with the North Carolina Pentecostal Holiness Church conference, and was a member of Brock's Chapel Church.
